Linksys shows off two new Media Center Extenders

Want to spring out of your Windows Media Center situation, but don’t have any good options? Well, you’re luck, because the good folks over at Linksys have whipped up a couple of wireless Media Center Extenders which might just do the trick… or wreck your home life. Feast your eyes on the DMA 2100 and DMA 2200 (pictured), two new offerings from the router-maker sure to please some of the people some of the time. Specs are thin right now, but what we do know is that the DMA 2200 sports an upscaling DVD player, both units have a “learning” remote, and the Extenders will be available sometime in November. For now, enjoy the photos, and your wild dreams of “sharing photos, music and movies” with friends and family.

Toshiba Satellite X205 laptops with NVIDIA SLI Technology

Aimed at the avid gamers the high-end Satellite X205 laptops from Toshiba features SLI graphics courtesy of NVIDIA. This upgrade is available on both the X205-SLI1 and X205-SLI3 models. They come bundled with dual NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT GPUs, with a combined 512MB of dedicated video RAM. There is standard HD DVD drives on both models, with a 2.0GHz T7250 Core 2 Duo processor on the SLI1 and a 2.2GHz T7500 on the SLI3. Both models also feature a 17-inch widescreen display, however the SLI3 boasts of 1680 x 1050 resolution as compared to the standard 1440 x 900 on the SLI1. The SLI3 also comes bundled with a USB HDTV tuner.

Toshiba Launches Gigabeat T400 PMP in 3 Colors

Toshiba launched its new Gigabeat T400 PMP today at a MSRP of $119.99. The device has the ability to play MP3, WMA, WAV, and WMA Lossless music formats along with WMV video and JPEG photos. Power for the device is via an internal Li-ion battery.

Toshiba says battery life is good for 16 hours of audio playback and 5 hours of video playback. Storage capacity is 4GB of flash and the device comes in three colors including pink, orange, and blue trim on black bodies. The LCD is a 2.4-inch screen and charge and sync is done via USB. The T400 weighs 2.05 ounces and measures in at 3.37” x 2.13” x 0.4”. InfoSync has a hands on preview posted and in the end they don’t feel the device is exceptionally good or bad. If you want a standout PMP, go for the new iPod nano.

New Creative MuVo T100 MP3 player

Creative has announced the new MuVo T100, that they describe as a “versatile, colourful, and easy-to-use MP3 player”.This USB flash drive-esque offering will come in black, white or vibrant pink.The USB connectivity means it will plug directly into a PC or notebook with no cables required and is instantly ready to go enabling music to be dragged and dropped straight to it.The MuVo T100 will be available with either 2GB or 4GB memory and the USB-rechargeable battery claims to give up to 10 hours playtime.

File-wise it will support MP3, WMA, WAV and Audible formats and it offers a Bass Boost button for “extra impact”.Pricing and availability to be confirmed, but with no LED screen or swanky features, we’d expect it to be cheap.

New AQUOS Blu-Ray Recorders from Sharp Have Up to 1TB Storage

Sharp has announced new Blu-ray recorders in Japan, with the 1TB hard drive-equipped BD-HDW20 as the new flagship. The player can start recording from its two digital or one analog tuners in under one second.

The $2,620 recorder is followed by the BD-HDW15, which packs a 500TB HD for $1,750.

Hitachi announces 0.74-inch thin 32-inch LCD television

While we wait for the the commercialization of those crazy-flat, high-contrast OLED televisions from Sony, Sharp and now Hitachi are trying to tempt us with super-thin LCDs of their own. Either way, we’re good. Hitachi’s 19-mm (0.74-inch) thin 32-inch LCD television was just announced but won’t be revealed until CREATEC Japan 2007 gets underway. Not bad… not a scant 3-mm OLED mind you, but not bad. CREATEC kicks off on Tuesday so be sure to check back then for pictures and specs.

Vivitar releases the 12 Megapixel T25 digital camera

Vivitar has released the Vivicam T25, a 12 megapixel compact digital camera, featuring. a 3 x optical zoom lens, both a 2.5 inch LCD screen and a viewfinder, 32MB of internal memory and an SD card slot for external storage. The new model T25 is a re-branded version of the Foxconn DS-C350. Foxconn Electronics is the largest manufacturer of OEM products and their digital cameras are widely used.
