Today, the computer is the new shoebox for your digital photos. Photos quickly fill up the hard drive on your computer, not to mention the 1000’s of print photos in your closet or basement! Isn’t it time to stop storing and start sharing?
PhotoVu Digital Picture Frames are the ideal way to display your favorite photos! Each and every PhotoVu has a crystal clear LCD display, quality frame, and an easy way to connect devices like a USB flash or hard drive.
100 Photos or 100,000 – See All Your Memories
Because the PhotoVu does not store any of your photos inside the digital picture frame, you are only limited by the amount of storage space on your memory card, USB drive, or computer.
When you use the PhotoVu without a computer, a USB memory device such as a flash or removable USB hard drive will supply the photos for the Photo Show.
A recessed pocket is conveniently located on the top of the PhotoVu digital picture frame to hold your USB storage devices. This way, you don’t see them sticking out from the PhotoVu when mounted on the wall.

Most ink-jet-based all-in-ones (AIOs) emphasize either photo-related or office-centric features. The former are best suited for a home, while the latter work well for a small office or home office. The HP Photosmart C7280 All-In-One ($299.99 direct) is strong in both departments. It offers photo-friendly features and high-quality photo prints, and also sports an automatic document feeder (ADF), standalone and fax, network connector, and Wi-Fi capability, all features that any office would welcome. All these capabilities make it a great choice for the dual role of home and home-office AIO.

The newest Parts Express DIY project speakers are called the Sphericals. They are a creation of long time speaker enthusiast Darren Kuzma, who enjoys designing unique loudspeakers that are crafted from a variety of materials. In designing the Sphericals, Darren wanted not only to create a good sounding set of speakers, but a visual conversation piece that would “pop” in any décor. Therefore, Darren started to work and eventually ended up with a spherical design crafted from metal tubing, modeling plaster, and even a few frying pans. In order to match the aesthetic and sonic qualities of his design, Darren chose to utilize 3” bamboo cones and 1” titanium tweeters from Tang Band. In addition, Darren designed two custom crossovers for the front and surround speakers that are third order acoustic at approximately 2300Hz.
Each surround will cost about $90 for the drivers and crossover parts, and the the fronts/center will cost about $127 for the same parts. The parts needed for the enclosures are fairly inexpensive despite their complex appearance. For those brave enough to try building a set of your own Sphericals, Darren has general instructions and a parts list over at partsexpress.com.

Check it — we’ve got a new entrant in the ever-expanding solid state disc market, and it goes by the name Micron. The firm’s first SSD lineup (dubbed RealSSD) will feature a native SATA II interface, a rugged, lightweight plastic casing, and suck down less than two-watts of power while active. Furthermore, the units will come in both 1.8- and 2.5-inch iterations, with a 32GB and 64GB flavor to be available in each size. The newly launched family is expected to slip into mass production in Q1 of next year, and on a related note, the 1GB to 8GB RealSSD Embedded USB range — which is slated to ship en masse next month — was also introduced. We know, you’ve hung around this long just to get the low down on pricing, but unfortunately, Micron has yet to dole out that oh-so-crucial information.

Those disappointed by the character selection in Mimoco’s original lineup of Star Wars-themed flash drives will soon have a few more familiar, if somewhat distorted, faces choose from, as the company has just announced its second series of drives. Included this time around are Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia, and perennial geek favorite, Boba Fett. Each are also available in the same 1GB, 2GB, and 4GB varieties as before, but they’re a bit cheaper this time around, running $50, $70, and $110, respectively. Just don’t plan on doling out these this holiday season, as they won’t start shipping until January or February.
