Sony’s Advanced Contrast Enhancer (ACE) builds on contrast ratio performance of 2000:1 Contrast Ratio. This technology creates a high-density video signal that traditional interpolation video processing cannot achieve. This latest generation of DRC-MF features increased processing power and provides a sharp, crystal clear image with both 480i and 480p standard definition and all high definition sources (except 1080p). It also features “1080p Direct Creation” which minimizes loss in interlace-to-progressive (IP) conversion by performing Digital Reality Creation and IP Creation algorithms simultaneously.

To accomplish this, Sony spent several years studying how the human ears hear what they hear. By understanding exactly how we recognize the origin, directionality, volume, and timing differences in right and left ear sound, Sony was able to create complex audio processing that delivers dynamic virtual surround sound without the need to bounce sound off walls and back to the listener… and without the need to surrender half an acre of real estate in your living room to traditional surround sound speakers.

Taking motion performance to the next level requires innovation and expertise. Enter Sony’s Motionflow(TM) High Frame Rate technology. Motionflow doubles the amount of frames from 60fps to 120fps and does it the right way by using real-time calculation of every single frame of video to create entire new frames of information. The results are spectacular and unlock a new level of motion reproduction. Motion performance is smooth and natural.
