If there’s one thing the seamstress community needs, it’s a sewing machine that turns into a lamp.
Unfortunately, the bad news is such a device still doesn’t exist (I think?), but the good news is there’s a concept floating around the Internet that purports to do illuminating tasks that are currently beyond the sewing machine industry understanding (or, in this case, desire).
The concept, called SEW, arrives by way of Baita Design. Let no seamstress live in the dark ever again. Thanks? [Baita Design via Design Blog]

Apple announced yesterday its iPad across the world, and well why I was quite unimpressed by the product, the name however ringed a bell to me… Yep the iPad is actually a Fujitsu Trademark…So I called Fujitsu in Japan this morning and here you are the Official Statement.
“Fujitsu Frontech North America is aware of Apple’s iPad announcement and the possible infringement on our trademark, which has been in use in connection with Fujitsu mobile retailing computer products since 2002. We are currently discussing our options with our trademark counsel and have no
further comment at this time”.
So why here it is, we will have to wait a little to see what happen, but I am surprise that Apple did not check this matter more carefully, or maybe they did not really care or just have enough cash to not care…

Transferring music to your player can be a pain in the rear bumper sometimes, especially if you require special software to do so. There are currently three methods used by various companies to transfer content, and a lot of people are unaware of the differences between them and what the pros and cons of each are. The MTP vs MSC debate is pretty heated in the forums where most here prefer MSC for its simplicity, but there are still legitimate reasons to use MTP or software. This article explains the different methods of transferring media and the features of each protocol.

There was a mini-internet revolt the last time NBC Universal’s TV chief started talking about ways to actually turn a profit from Hulu and the search for a balance continues. People familiar with the matter — our favorite source by the way — told the LA Times that the search in question could take another six months before official pricing is announced, but the latest idea being thrown around is to charge a $5 per month subscription for access to older shows. A quick search of Hulu just showed that only the past four or five episodes of newer shows are currently available, so charging for older shows means new access to additional content. We have to say that offering additional programming above and beyond what is currently free is a pretty good strategy, but the other one we’d like to see is a premium option to view content commercial free — no word on if any of the paid content will still have commercials. The one thing this won’t change is the fact that the content creators already sold the rights to these shows on the TV, which of course means Hulu won’t be able to stop going out of its way to block things like Boxee and the PS3 — still kind of shocked that PlayOn isn’t effected.
Hulu’s subscription service might run $5 for access to select shows originally appeared on Engadget on Thu, 21 Jan 2010 22:02:00 EST. Please see our terms for use of feeds.

The latest high-fashion gaming outfit (known as Origin ’round these parts) has just started shipping its beastly Genesis out, and if you’ve ever wondered what five large could get you in the land of desktops, wonder no more. The crew over at Hot Hardware managed to procure a darn-near-loaded machine, complete with a Core i7-920 CPU (overclocked from the factory to 3.8GHz), 6GB of Corsair DDR3 RAM, twin ATI Radeon HD 5970 GPUs, a liquid cooling system, 80GB SSD boot drive and pretty much every other top-of-the-line component you could imagine. How’d it stand up to testing? Well. Really well. It crushed every benchmark that dared get in its way, and we’re told that when pressed, the company’s explanation of its warranty was truly best in class. What’s interesting is that the MSRP of the test unit can be halved by simply opting for a few marginally weaker pieces, and we’re guessing that the overall performance wouldn’t suffer a huge deal. Hit the source link for all the bars, charts and in-depth analysis you can handle.

We told you about the LG eXpo some weeks back after it got announced by AT&T. Today it’s available online or at AT&T stores for our US readers. Inside is Windows Mobile 6.5, a 5 megapixel auto-focus camera, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 and tri-band 3G / HSDPA and quad-band GSM / GPRS.
Specs also include a 1500mAh battery, 3.2″ touchscreen, aGPS and a quick Qualcomm 1Ghz CPU. LG are currently marketing this with the James Cameron “Avatar” movie. This is yet another lovely Windows Mobile powered LG that we’ll probably get to see very little of here in Europe

You might have been taught in school that energy only changes from one type to another when consumed. If you read between the lines you will realize that while one form of energy is being used, the other ends up being a bi-product: in short it’s wasted.
