With golf-swing assistance mode
Casio has unveiled the Exilim EX-FS10S – a digital camera designed to help improve your golf swing. Using a special burst mode, onboard software can detect your club and the position of your elbows, arms and head, and offer advice on how to improve your posture.
Despite being a little on the niche side, the snapper actually has some reasonable specs. It has a 9.1-megapixel sensor, 720p video recording at 30ps, a 3x optical soom, and weight of 139g. It only has 32MB of onboard memory, but we suspect it’ll support a memory card of some sort, too.
It’s not clear how much it costs, and nor is it clear when – or indeed if – it’ll be available outside of Japan. But if it does turn up over here, we’ll be sure to bring you full pricing and availability info.

Sure, we could rattle off a list of specs — and if you’re curiuos, it’s a 9.1 megapixel sensor with 3x optical zoom and 720p video — but you know what’s really gonna have Casio’s Exilim EX-FS10S flying off shelves? The ability to stand it behind your tee and show you exactly how you screw up your swing, with special help of the company’s trademark 1000 frames per second burst mode. The catch is, while the EX-FS10 is already available in US, only the Japanese model seems to have your golf buddy. Bummer.

Remember that FCC filing for a GSM-loving North American Palm Pre? Looks like the mystery’s been solved, Encyclopedia Brown, and our culprit is just south of the border. As previously rumored, Mexico’s Telcel will get the Pre, SIM card slot and all. Launch date is November 27th, just in time for the US to be thankful for an online community ready to unlock and import this stateside.
[Thanks, Andres]
