One of the world’s most advanced robots recently made its or should I say ‘his’ journey from Dubai, to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia on an Emirates Airlines flight. Sure that’s no big deal, except that this one made the journey as a passenger and not in the hold. Ibn Sina (named after an 11th century philosopher), a humanoid robot, wheeled his way into the Emrites First Class passenger lounge and relaxed for a bit with his traveling companion Dr Nikolaos Mavridis

Stuart Hughes aficionados take note. The luxury bedazzler is now back with an entry-level alternative to its $3.2 million iPhone 3GS Supreme. Of course, the new Nokia Supreme will still set you back a suitably ridiculous ?99,995 (or $160k), which will get you a Nokia 8800 encrusted with 12.5 cts of pink diamonds, some handmade veneers made from 83 grams of platinum, a navigation button topped off with a single 3 ct diamond, and the usual granite box to store it in. Only three have been made, but it looks like today’s your lucky day — it’s still in stock.

We’ve seen plenty spinning, twirling, and wind-up gadgets from Sony and others, but nothing quite like this battery concept designed by Song Teaho and Hyejin Lee. While there’s still a bit of work to be done with the actual “working” part, the concept is to simply let you twirl your cellphone battery around your finger a few times for a quick bit of juice to send a text or make a call — the designers estimate 130 twirls will give you two minutes of talking time. Of course, the same idea could also be applied to batteries for other devices, although you’d probably have your work cut out for you trying to charge your laptop battery.

[Thanks, deej]

I could wax poetic about this kitchen for days. Seriously, for days. To say it’s warm, cozy, and inviting is the understatement of all understatements, I think. And if you are just as smitten as I, then it’s your lucky day friends. …
