Samsung first announced its R0 PMP way back and July of last year, and we saw its R1 model hit the FCC a month later in August, but the company has just now finally gotten official with US availability for both of them. Set to be available sometime next month, the touchscreen-equipped R1 will come in 8GB and 16GB varieties (in black or silver) for $149.99 and $179.99, while the non-touchscreen, and slightly larger R0 (pictured above), will run just $99 and $129 for the same capacities in your choice of black, silver or pink. Both will also give you Samsung’s own Digital Natural Sound Engine 3.0 “sound enhancement” technology and DivX support, along with a microSD card slot on the R0, and Bluetooth support on the R1, among other standard fare.

It’s a bit of a stretch in reasoning, but some leaked docs seem to confirm media player manufacturer Cowon is dipping a toe into the world of tablets with the Atom-powered W2.

Here’s what we know: Not much. The leaked sheet contains no image, no real specs and no launch date. The tablet speculation only arrives once you consider Cowon’s MO, paired with Atom. Yeah, definitely a stretch, but an interesting one to consider on this lazy, post-Halloween Sunday afternoon. [DAP Review via Engadget]

Same Droid, different country. Hell, different continent. In Germany thy name be Milestone.

The new name is not as tech-heavy of geektastic as Droid, but we can see the point. From here on out, things are going to be different (hopes Verizon/Motorola).

The image comes from the O2 web site, where the Droid is masquerading about as the Milestone for a presumably contract-free price of about $595. Launch day is November 9, a mere three days after we Yanks get the coveted handset here in the States. No word on whether or not O2 scored an exclusive here or what, as there’s no mention of the phone popping up on other carriers’ web sites. [Slashgear]
