Almost unknown to the most in the interchangeable Lens Camera World, Panasonic now has quite an impressive presence in this industry and its latest models are the G2 and G10. While the G2 seems to the obvious upgrade to the G1 that we’ve all been waiting for, with AVCHD lite video recording (720p) and a 3” touch screen, the G10 on the other hand lacks the G2’s touch screen but is still capable of recording only 720p video and is targeting first time users who desire something more than your average point & shoot. Finally both the G10 and G2 sport a 12.1Mpix CMOS censor and will be sold with a new Vario 14-42mm compact zoom lens.

This wouldn’t be the first time we’ve seen a sugar fuel cell, but gosh darnit, it just might be the sexiest. Chinese designer Daizi Zheng has conjured up a vision for a soft drink-powered cylindrical Nokia of the future that pounds Coca-Colas to stay juiced: just screw off the top, pop the can, and pour. Daizi estimates that that a single can of the stuff could outlast a traditional lithium ion battery by three to four times — never mind the obvious ecological benefits — but don’t you dare steal our caffeine the next time you need a charge, alright?

[Thanks, Rob]

zen-vision-w-main-small.jpg

Digging though old posts I came across a review I started but never finished dating back to 2006. The photos are even watermarked before we had a logo.

The Zen Vision W was basically a larger version of the Zen Vision:M. They both had a great looking screen and awesome playback of native video. The only difference besides the obvious was that the W had a compact flash memory expansion slot. Though it wasn’t much of an expansion slot since both your music libraries would not integrate with each other. Unfortunately, Creative continues this trend today up to the new X-fi2.

Below are the photos that were prepared for the review back in 2006. How retro…
