Japan’s Akihabara district in Tokyo is pretty much the place to go for electronics. With the wide array of stores scattered all over the area one could miss out on stuff like a little shop that’s kind of a museum to Apple’s bygone days. The owner is one serious Apple fan-boy as his shop seems more of a tribute to Apple rather than one you’d buy something from. He’s got Macs from all eras including a Macintosh Classic with its 8MHz CPU and 1MB of RAM. Ahh the good old days. He also mods the cabinets and uses some of the older devices as spare parts. He’s also into refurbishing and restoring old devices to their former glory. I’m not sure how many of you would want to do that but a collector is a collector I guess.

If you weren’t content with just seeing Avatar in 3D in theaters, don’t worry. According to James Cameron, we’ll be seeing a 3D Blu-Ray version of the movie before the end of this year:
We’ll do the Blu-ray and the standard def DVD April 22nd, that’s our plan as of right now, and that’ll be pretty much bare bones. And then we’ll do a value-added DVD and a 3-D Blu-ray in I think November sometime.
Oh, and I hear that Jason Chen might even do one of his infamous movie liveblogs if there’s a director’s commentary version. [WSJ via Engadget]

WOW can you believe it? Manufacturer still offers 2G phones? I mean, seriously, living in a GPRS World must sucks… And Apparently in Korea there is still some demands for such dumb 2G phones! Look at LG’s latest Waffle, better known as LG-SV770, a simple 2g phone with FM Radio, Hotkey (WOWOWOW), Bluetooth, Camera, Video and that pretty much it…
Seriously I will be really sad if I was obliged to live in a 2G only country…

In case you’re wondering why ET hasn’t really shown at our side of the ‘woods’ just yet, studies conducted by William Edelstein of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland, have shown that light speed travel just ain’t possible. The reason is rather complicated and has a lot to do with hydrogen gas that could rip a spaceship to shreds even if it had a 10-centimetre-thick layered shell of aluminum.
