Short films show off what the browser can do
Google has unveiled a series of short films that show prospective users exactly what its Chrome browser can do, covering its speed, security, themes, stability, omnibox, new tab and incognito features.
They run the gamut from impressive, to sweet, to beautiful, and most involve a harpist. Some feature mercury, some have wool and others have dominoes. All feature a contraption of some sort, and then an explanatory panel.
Which is your favourite? We particularly like the speed one, near the start, for its slightly Heath Robinson (Rube Goldberg, for American readers) construction.
Thanks to @Maxicom for the tip.

Google Chrome will now serve Mac OS X users who have till now been envying their Windows counterparts. The new release of Chrome’s Beta version for Mac users will use the underlying Safari backend. It will also have an sandboxed security mode for durability of the browser during crashes, a special location field makes it way into the browser and serves as a search box as well and it also packs a very helpful mode that allows you to browse without worrying about your browsing data being saved.
The Google Chrome Beta for Mac OS X works with OS X versions 10.5 and later. An Intel processor is a prerequisite and the entire file size is about 17.6 MB.

Microsoft just released firmware 4.3 for the Zune HD. It fixes some minor issues like speeding up the browser, does some preliminary support for upcoming applications and games and also adds predictive text input to make it a bit easier to type on the device. It also speeds up the startup a little and adds a few features in the UI like links in the artist bio and a keyboard settings menu. Definitely worth grabbing if you have a Zune HD.
