App developers have got to be some of the most interesting individuals on the planet. I’m not talking about the one’s who came up with hundreds of ‘Fart apps’ but the guys who create stuff like – PinPointsX. If you’re thinking it’s some sort of treasure map game where ‘X’ marks the spot, you’re not completely inaccurate

I have to agree with the guys from Gizmodo as this was one of my own theories as well. Being the comic book fan I am, I have a couple of comic book apps for my iPhone, so naturally I fully intended, should I go down that road, to install the same on the iPad.

Cameras do weird things when there are bright lights directly behind the subject. Although that could be something to watch out for it certainly doesn’t indicate that the developers are dumb, just that they didn’t foresee a random …

Today Creative Zii Labs released the first Android firmware for the Creative Zii EGG based on Android version 1.6. The firmware is very beta and really only for the developers to start working on the OS for the Zii EGG. The basic Android applications are there but some things like the camera are still not working. Also, some elements of a phone are present such as 2G options and signal strength icon are still present, so Android still needs to be cleaned up and targeted to the specificly to the Zii EGG. Android marketplace was not available but I was able to download and install AndAppstore and successfully install applications from that app library.

Even though it is still very rough around the edges and far from a consumer ready device it is exciting to see progress. Still no word on when this device will launch for the consumer market, but don’t hold your breath since I would guess that date to be well into 2010 considering the current state of firmwares.

Below is a video demo of the Zii EGG Android in action.

Schiau Studios got annoyed at users complaining about paying $3 for a game. To teach all the whiners a lesson, they raised the price of their game. To $40.

The increase was only temporary, and the game (Alchemize) has since returned to $2.99. But it demonstrated a good point: the App Store is super cheap.

In a particularly classy move, any revenues the developers earned during the increased price period go to charity.

It doesn’t get any less expensive than the App Store. Case in point: the same games on the iPhone are cheaper than the PSP version. We’ve got it good right now. Please, whiners. Don’t ruin it for the rest of us. [Network World via IntoMobile]
