Lenovo’s aiming at a narrow niche with its IdeaPad S10-3t, but for those interested in things like “multitouch tablets of the netbook size,” the video after the break would probably tickle your senses. Shortly after going on sale here in the States, the good folks over at Netbook News were able to procure one and unbox the whole thing on film. It’s not quite seven minutes in heaven, but it’s frighteningly close. Have a look beneath the break, won’t you?

Ready for some hot ThinkPad action? Lenovo’s shipping out its new ThinkPad T410, and like clockwork an unboxing video has arrived. (This is the Core i5 T410, not the brand-new Core i3 T401i — confused? Yeah.) Changes to the venerable T400 formula are minor, apart from the new Core 2010 processors inside — the trackpad is the same nice dimpled multitouch unit we fell in love with on the T400s, a powered USB port for charging other devices, a DisplayPort instead of DVI, and… a modem port? You just keep on being crazy, Lenny. Don’t you ever change. Check it on video after the break.

Solar-charged batteries aren’t exactly wow factors these days, unless they’re dirt cheap like this Scosche solBAT II. With 1,500mAh of juice, this dongle can carry slightly more power than your average smartphone, and can also take any device with a USB cable. However, before you fork out $29.99 to Scosche, you should know that the solBAT takes between four to five days (!) to charge up fully under sunlight — not ideal for most power-hungry smartphones nowadays. There’s always the $93.23 Energizer SP2000 (2,000mAh) for your consideration — it’s bulkier, but with three solar panels it only needs six hours of solar-charge time. Guess we’ll just take the faster one, thanks.

The limited edition Hermès-designed M7 camera from Leica has been taken out of its silk-lined box by The Purse Blog, and while they don’t go into actual review mode, the unboxing pics are more than enough for me to leer at.

Vlad from The Purse Blog only comments on a few specifics of the M7, writing that it is:

“covered in supple “Swift” calfskin which is, of course, hand-wrapped after a time-consuming tanning process that gives it a fantastic luxurious feel”

It’s also sporting a new silver chrome 35mm f/1.4 Summilux-M lens, which is the first model Leica’s used it on.

Will Vlad take it on a hunting trip or safari jaunt, like our own Mr. Nosowitz suggested when the camera was first announced? Will he hell. He claims “this is an investment piece than will never see a roll of film.” The $12,950 camera will be tucked in a cabinet for life, which is probably just as well considering the price. [The Purse Blog - thanks Laura!]

As Mobile World Congress—and presumably Window Mobile 7—careens closer and closer, we’re going to hear a lot more of this. Today’s batch? Business and consumer versions of the OS, a sexxxy new name, and possible first hardware.

WMExperts’ post is essentially a digest of everything they think they know from a variety of sources, including this very site. Even as a summary, though, it’s pretty huge, and the rumors sprawl from totally ridiculous to fairly credible, so here are the meaty bits:

&bull Windows Mobile 7 won’t be marketed as Windows Mobile 7. We sort of knew this already, since Microsoft has been marketing Windows Mobile and “Windows Phone” since the announcement of 6.5. But it’s not even going to be that, apparently. The new name? “Seven.”

&bull There will be two versions of the OS: one for OEMs and businesses, a stripped-down that’s being referred to in development as Business Edition; and one media-oriented version for consumers, tentatiely called Media Edition. Business edition will be focused on enterprise tools, like collaborative document editing, while the media edition will be focused on, well, media.

&bull If we see Seven at MWC, it won’t be a full product—we’ll see HD video playback, a Zune-like media interface, and some of the rest of the UI, but not all of it. This sounds odd! But the rumor consensus is that the OS won’t hit phones until late 2010, so it’s plausible that they’re just not done yet,

There’s nothing earth-shattering here, and most of these rumors just prompt more questions. Perhaps the juiciest part of this whole mess, though, is the rumored hardware from LG and HTC. What’s so great about the LG Apollo and HTC Obsession, assuming they actually exist? Well, seeing as they’re supposed to be Seven launch devices, they represent the new baseline for Windows Mobile phones. And this baseline is high: WMExperts reports both have 1GHz+ Snapdragon processors, 3.7-inch AMOLED screens, and 512MB to 1GB of RAM. In other words, Windows Mobile 7’s dumpiest handsets will be gutsier than anything you can buy today—something that will get less and less impressive the longer Microsoft waits to release this thing.

Anyway, if you’re still feeling a little lost as to what on earth WinMo 7 may or may not be, WMExperts’ breakdown is worth a read. [WMExperts]

Deep down, we all sort of knew that the day would come when a ThinkPad would finally feature more color than its signature keyboard highlights — and the company obliged such trepidations with not one but two new color-loving ‘Pads announced here at CES. One of them, the “definitely not a netbook” X100e, has already found itself been candidly photographed while making its way out of a retail box. Featuring a comprehensive gallery of angles of the new machine — which include some comparison shots making the X200 look bulky — the read link should provide plenty for the ThinkPad loyalist that wants to be in the know. If you want it quick and dirty though, video of the unboxing awaits just past the break.

We’re probably not alone here when we say that we have a penchant for European minimalism, and the latest out of the audiophiles at Geneva Labs certainly doesn’t disappoint. With five different models (the Models S, M, L, XL, and XXL), the firm has put together arguably one of the most aesthetically pleasing audio lineups on the market today. From the incredibly sleek rounded edges, to the hidden LED display behind the speaker grates, the attention to detail is second to none. We’re also crazy about the touch sensitive control panel on the Model S, which can control your iPod’s menus from the panel or from the bundled remote control. Alright, now that we’ve successfully whet your appetite, check out some hardcore audiophile erotica in the gallery below.

Dropping by Buffalo’s booth at CES today was a surprisingly fruitful affair. The company is keen is to promote its first US-designed product, called the Dualie, which serves as a simultaneous HDD and iPhone/iPod dock. Priced at $250, it’ll come with a rather handsome 500GB external drive, and it’ll even let your iPod Nano take a ride. Moving to more serious modes of storage, we snapped a couple of pictures of the Linkstation Duo NAS, which comes with two drives and will be priced at $500 for a 3TB set, $340 for 2TB, and $230 for a pair of 500GB drives. Finally, the as yet unannounced MediaStation 6x portable BluRay writer will be making its debut in March at around $250.

The Acer Liquid A1 just started shipping in the UK, and right on cue we’ve got a video unboxing. Turns out the box housing the 1GHz Snapdragon-powered Android set is fairly interesting itself, with a magnetic hinged design that opens to reveal the charger, manuals, and bundled 2GB SanDisk microSD card and SD adapter. As for the phone, don’t hold out for an Android 2.0 surprise — it’s running Android 1.6 with Acer’s custom Spinlets UI skin on top, which equals a frowny-face from us. Hopefully Acer manages to update things if this guy ever comes to the States, but for now we’ll just let you head past the break and check the video for yourselves — we’re sorry about the terrible Owl City soundtrack, but we had nothing to do with it.

[Thanks, Shreedhan]

We hope you like pink. Cloud Engines’ new iteration of Pogoplug just landed on our doorstep, oddly enough packed with an unopened pack of microwavable popcorn (something tells us we’re missing a joke here). We’re still in the plugging-in-and-testing phase, but no point in depriving you of the unboxing fun while we do that, right? Right. Enjoy the gallery below.

Previous reviews haven’t been all smiles, but we’re finally able to pick up Nikon’s Coolpix S70 and see for ourselves. On form factor alone, it’s a pretty alluring build — even the faux leather front is tastefully done. While the tap-to-focus feature is a nice addition, we’re less enthused about the OLED screen’s viewing angles when outside — and seeing as we’ve go no other way to see the memories we’re framing, that’s pretty disappointing. We’re still putting it through its paces before we dole out full impressions, but in the meantime, enjoy our unboxing and hands-on photos.
