Acer K-11 Pico Projector

Today’s ACER news is about the new Pico projector the K-11. Superceding its predecessor the K-10 as offering twice as much brightness at 200 lumens for the same 20,000-hour (LED) lamp life same and an HDMI port in addition to the usual VGA and composite AV ports. It also features a SDHC card reader and a USB port. All this in such a diminutive form as 122 x 116 mm with a weight of mere 0.61 kg, sounds simply perfect to slide into your pocket.

Other than these, it retains the same contrast ratio at 2,000:1 and the same native resolution at 858 x 600 with K-10.

ZMP Inc. is a Japan-based company developing Robotics engineering and educational products. Under the banner of ZMP e-nuvo series, they offer various types of robots. Last year, they launched the prototype RoboCar which is now followed by a more developed, bigger, 1-seat product the RoboCar G.

It is meant for research facilities and will be available in November. No word on pricing.

Our PMP support 1080P video playback as well as being compatible with MKV, RMBV, AVI, MOV, MPG, DAT, MP3 and TS video files as well as the usual Mp3, WMA, WAV, OGG, Flac… audio ones.

Finally our PMP is USB OTG and set to be sold later this year.

Pentax upgraded its previous model compact digital camera “Optio W80” by rendering it tougher and adding a few new features.

The new Optio W90 is now water-proof up to 6 meters, shock-proof up to 1.2 mt. thanks to its rubberized housing and cold-proof to as low as -10 °C. It also has slightly bigger LCD 2.7 (compared to 2.5-inch of its predecessor).

As to the new features, there is digital Microscope mode allowing you to capture close-up images from 1 cm away and Pet detection is also added to the usual list of Face/smile/blink as well as the new built-in LED ring light for close-up shots. Last but not the least, it comes with a a carabiner strap.

It retains the 12.1 MP resolution, Optical 5X 28-140 mm equivalent zoom lens, and 720 p at 30fps video recording.

Offered either in pistachio green or all black versions, it will be available in Japan this year as of mid-March. No price info.

If you still owns some VHS and want to digitally save them once and for all, there are not so many solutions at your disposal beside getting a DVD version of your VHS Movie Collection, and things may get even more complicated if you these Videos are stuff you recorded via a camcorder… Anyway, VHS to DVD or DviX is not something that easy… This is why Buffalo released the PC-SDVD/U2G, a USB dongle in the shape of a USB key with the usual S-Video and Component input that will once connected to your VHS and to your PC let you record on your notebook or Desktop pretty easily.
